Colourful Convo: Marian

There is something powerful, fun, complex about women that Adeola finds inspiring and worth sharing.
The colourful convo is a series of video interviews with some inspiring women of colour in various walks of life.
We sat down with A woman that inspires us both as a mom, career woman and beautiful human being Marian on this episode. Get inspired by Marion as she shares experiences as a black woman in science and workplace politics. We also talk financial literacy, how to handle discrimination in the workplace and how to live your best life as a woman of colour.
We discussed being a woman of colour in the project engineering world of London, financial literacy, entrepreneurship and being a mum to a vibrant boy.
You can find our talk with Marian and her work below:

I love to see Women of Color doing it! It is such an inspiration to me and other women to see a successful Black woman and especially if she is uplifting other women and mentoring them! I love that so much!

It’s always good to see women who are both mothers and owning their careers. I’m not married yet nor a mother but it is inspirational to see others’ testimonies and gives me motivation for the future.

I love it when women uplift each other. Woot Woot for another female engineer. Balancing work and family is work, but not impossible. I agree with accepting and offering help when needed.

Can I just say I could listen to you ladies talk for hours? I love your accents! And I think it’s a beautiful thing that you are highlighting inspiring women of color, Adeola. Listening to Mariah’s interview was such a breath of fresh air. I could totally relate to her, especially being a mother. And when she began to talk about those microagressions in the workplace, it definitely took me back to my old job. Great interview, ladies!
