Mavis Michelini aka. Ishanqueen, is an Italo-Nigerian writer. She was born in Nigeria but spent all her formative years in Italy where she earned a diploma in Science. She is currently majoring in English and Creative Writing in the UK. She is a feminist, an Atheist and a supporter of the LGBT community. She is the admin of the Facebook groups called “Women Against Bride Price” and “Childfree Nigerians”. She likes writing provocative and controversial topics to push her readers to think critically. is a 27-year-old Eritrean-American living all over the world.  She is a founding team member at a tech startup called Threde. Helen is a growth hacker with a specialization in business development and she is currently experimenting with code. Every now and then she takes photos of people, places and things.

Cortnie Vee is a Texas born, Brooklyn based storyteller. Her mediums include poetry, essays, and short screenplays, and her work usually explores themes of unrequited love and loss. She enjoys thrifting and hand making candles in her apartment as a form of therapy. She takes her coffee with sugar and her martinis with gin.

Ariatu PR Founder, Ronke Lawal, was born in Hackney, East London of Nigerian parentage. Having graduated with honours from Lancaster University and the University of Richmond Virginia (USA) with a degree in International Business (Economics), she started her own PR and Marketing business in 2004. Apart from her active and involved business interests, her varied passions outside the business world include food (Founder of Food Blog www.whosfordinner.co.uk), travel, music, literature and most importantly living a life she loves.

Mariam Mouna

Mar is a native of Marrakech, Morocco living and loving in Brooklyn, NY. She is the founder and creative director of I See You Wellness—a wellness and lifestyle brand that exists to empower communities of color through accessible wellness and radical self care. 

Mar is a Reiki practitioner (Usui Shiki Ryoho) and a natural born healer with the ability to SEE YOU for who you truly are. Mar uses multiple healing modalities in her work: Meditation, Writing, Affirmations, Aromatherapy, Energy & Oracle Card Readings, Reiki and Sound Healing—and continues to study alongside peers and teachers to bring more accessible healing modalities to communities of color. Mar is on a mission to ignite the spark within individuals so we can collectively rise to our purpose. Her work has been featured in ESSENCE Magazine, Refinery29, Brit+Co, Madame Noire and Melanin & Sustainable Style.

Arit Etukudo

Joy, who also goes by the name Arit Emmanuela, is a Nigerian American writer, photographer, editor, and director. She received her BA in Cinematic Arts and Creative writing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She bases all of her work on ideas of identity and individuality and uses her work as a platform that focuses on the parts of stories that are not often told. When she is not writing or directing she works as a freelance photographer. She has been in multiple exhibitions including the Baltimore RAW Artists Showcase and Art All Night DC. is a dedicated traveler and writer who resides in London, England. Up until four years ago, she had only been to two countries – her country of birth and her country of residence. She took up writing as a means of distraction to keep her awake in class until one of her teachers found some of her work and encouraged her to take her talent further. She now writes for therapy, as a way to put some voices to sleep inside her. She leaves bits and pieces of her writing on Tumblr and Instagram.
