Who are you without community?

There is beauty in nature, not only the ones you can see with your eyes. There is beauty in stillness, not only when your body pushes you to be still. There is beauty in being one with the elements, one with the universe, touching the sun, touching the rocks: and feeling the life force within them, feeling the life force within you. Being able to come home to yourself, to come home to the earth, to come home to the universe that connects and allows all to live within her.

There is beauty in understanding the uniqueness that you carry as an individual, but also the space that you hold for the collective as part of the divinity of all of us, of all this earth, of all this planet, that you are not different. That you are not alone, that you are not separate from each other, that we are one with each other even when we violate each other, even when we oppress each other, that we are essentially oppressing ourselves. There is beauty in understanding that as the waves crash to the shores, easefully, gently, forcefully, bravely, daringly, so do everything in our life come to pass.

We cannot be in control of anything because we are not in control. The earth herself, the planet herself is in control of all that is to be, that is to come, and that is beauty in understanding and holding space for the individuality of each one of us, for the humanity of each one of us, as we fully embody and allow the divinity in each one of us to guide us towards justice, to guide us towards equity, to guide us towards compassion, to guide us towards accountability, to guide us towards community. We cannot be in community with each other when we despise ourselves and each other.

We cannot be in community with each other when we hold each other to very high, rigid standards that cannot be possible to hold a human being up to. We cannot be in community with each other when we indeed do not even know ourselves, let alone try to know each other. There is joy in understanding that coming together requires the stripping off of all that is inherently within us, of all that we are hiding away from, and of all that we think we have.

There is something beautiful about knowing that we are the homes of the universe and the universe is our home, that we are one with the universe and the universe is one in us. That we owe all of our being and everything that we are to this earth, that we owe everything to the planet, we owe everything to each other. We are each other’s harvest, we are each other’s fruits, we are each other’s concern, we are each other’s homes and that can only be a knowledge that we embody once we realise we are our own home and we come home to self, we come home to the multitude, we come home to the planet, we come home to all of us together.

I pray we all learn that we have no choice but to come together if we want to continue our lineages.
