When I picked up homegoing, I knew it was one book I always needed to read.I have to says

I have to say Yaa Gyasi is an incredible storyteller.

Every character is fully human with dignity and multiple layers of their personhood.

This book is full of gems and knowledge of the ancestors. I did an explicit video review that I will share 5 important lessons I learned from the book.

  1. Freedom is never free.

  2. Your ancestors’ wounds are still very fresh.

  3. The comfort we seek can only be found when we go back to our roots.

  4. Water and fire do exist to create magic.

  5. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, don’t be too lazy to seek answers.
